All the released players will continue to be paid and won't officially leave until their contracts end on the 30th June.

thanks, which leads me to my second question

when do we normally get them in to commence the pre-season training/friendlies.... etc

What I am getting at is that in my view we need to be very quick off the mark to get the squad together. It seems that a there will be a large amount of new faces, the gelling time needs to be the longest we can get. We truly need to hit the ground not just running ...but sprinting next term IMHO.

Season starts 9 August so I expect pre season start to be first full week of July.

The players usually return to training the first week in July.

I think it'll be the case

That from 1st June onwards, we'll be able to confirm players will be signing from 1st July.

No, it would be preferable for a good start, but seems like he and other managers with a load of new signings will be up against it.

    Re: the demand?

Is the demand that we hit the ground running on 9th August with a squad of new players immediately performing as a cohesive unit?

Stop yelling at me you heartless swine

Mother said it would be like this.

Not a demand mate, but with the hurt of relegation, the varying opinion of Mr Wilson by the fans. I really think for all round that a good start would make all breathe a lot easier

It was a tongue in cheek, rhetorical question.

its no good you trying to get round me now... I am hurting and my heart is bleeding.

I am happy enough with a long term re-build, and I am sure Danny can be that man. But In light of the relegation, the somewhat divided opinion of the fan... and the huge clear out. Then to me it would seem a good thing if we got off to a decent start. lets say mid table or top half after say a dozen games... then maybe rise to the top 10 or better as the players get it together. I am not at all expecting to bounce right back or even get in the play-offs... but what I would be deeply concerned with is if we have a season of struggle in L1 as we have had for our recent stay in the Championship since we got promoted. I do not think patience within the fans could take that somehow.

Patience is a thing of the past, especially when the manager isn't liked and I'm as guilty as anyone.
