Although I found the comment in the Chronicle strange "The players have respect for the management team and showed this by pouring beer over them"! Good job they don't have a lack of respect for them then!
Best manager since Danny Wilson I'm surprised and disgusted with the negative comments made by some fans towards Andy Ritchie .
RE: Best manager since Danny Wilson If I didn't respect my boss, I too would cover him in glory by doing my absolute utmost to succeed.
The players love Ritchie and Holden.
You have to wonder where these 'inside' comments are coming from and the thinking behind them.

load of old ballack's,cant believe folk are still coming out with this crap after the ritchie got us promoted.some of our so called fan's are lovely person's
Are the comments made by people Who didn't want Andy Ritchie appointed in the first place ? Possibly , their egos won't allow them to admit they got it wrong and now try to justify that they've been right all the time and tell downright lies to substantiate their personal views . I'm not saying this is definitely the case , but it does tick all the boxes .
'Tards We've always had an unfortunately vocal minority who seem to think they know everything about BFC, football, and the world in general, and are unshakeable in these (generally downbeat and pessimistic) opinions. These people are, however, cretinous morons who have **** for brains. Literally. They actually have **** in their brains. I reckon.
well i overheard on the radio earlier this season that we were making a bid for John Terry you just watch this summer when he joins, no doubt young nudger believes it!
Joe Cole bought a house in Worsbrough, it's reight mi Auntie heard it in't chippie last night.... nailed on !!!!
Hiya Rosco we had to chuck lumps of raw meat into the car to pacify her, but she didn't bite any Swansea fans !!!
Seriously, we all had a brill day out and all three of the young uns were a credit, sung their hearts out all day. Great day !!!!
Dave

Does right I mean what's Ritchie ever done for us ?
Team spirit?
Apart from the team spirit what's Ritchie ever done for us ?
Got us promoted ?
Apart from the team spirit and promotion what's Ritchie ever done for us ?
Got the players to play for him ?
Apart from......etc etc etc
(With deference to Life of Brian)

It's probably come from a player who ain't getting a game or a new contract. I remember Mitch Ward moaning about the club having no ambition when he was released.
The impression I get is that Ritchie has always had the players respect. I don't think that has been in any doubt. I have never been one of his out and out fans but the guy did every thing right from Walsall onwards. My only concern is that he has been too loyal to some of the players who could have done with a week or so on the bench and I think he should have strenghened the squad after Burns left for Poland. I'm looking forward to seing who we sign for next season and I now believe that Ritchie can take this club forward. I hope I'm not wrong in saying that and have to eat humble pie again.
RE: Hiya Rosco Glad to hear it, you never know I might entice her to get a season ticket. On my way out I was accosted by Dearne FM for a vox-pop, I could hardly talk I has sung so much, don't know how it came across on radio, must have sounded like a reyt freak. We had a water fight last saturday, the little sod chucked a whole washing-up bowl of water all over me, I only had a little water pistol!
I juts hope that if things are not going for us next season that we don't ged rid and fans get behind the team, we need continuity and chopping and changing the manager will never help!
I've an idea where it comes from originally, and if I'm right then it's a shame more than anything, cos that person's ultimately undermining what imho is the best chance of progress this club has had in years.
Interesting Dirk.. could it be that this person sees how teh players are with AR and ASSUMES it means they have no respect for him, ie the "clowning around"? Is the person you are thinking of in a top position?
My only axe to grind with Ritchie has ever been the way that he plays down expectations to ensure that he manages to live up to them. I have never accepted his argument that this is a "third tier" club that is only able to "flirt" with the Championship. I feel he is again reinforcing this idea by making out we should be getting nosebleeds at getting promoted - why? If the reason we struggled to get promoted back to the Championship was that the League 1 standard was not much lower than the Championship, are we now to expect the standard going back the other way to be a quantum leap?? I like Holden's comments in the Chronicle last week - talking of making a push back to the Prem!!! Not saying he is being realistic but at least he is banging the drum and exciting the public! Otherwise more than happy with AR - not always agreed with his decisions, but a clearly a good man doing a good job, and more power to him in my opinion.
