Apparently Rochdale were 2nd in the league when Parkin came to us.

So I've been told.

 

My age may be playing tricks with my memory, but

I don't think Rochdale were second in the table when Parkin arrived. I'm probably wrong.

edit, I was wrong

that was the table the day after he took over. I've now changed it to show the table the day he left. It's basically the same story though with them in second though now some teams have played 16 and some 17. hull in third have played 16</p>

Last time I looked we were in the Championship unless we've been relegated twice since this morning...???

It all starts from here, but as someone says it cant be worse than Simon Dvey.

 

Robins was a household name as a player & has contacts.... Steve Parkin, who is/was he?

When we appointed him, I was very underwhelmed as I had never heard of the guy....... similar to Simon Davey I suppose..... only difference being that Parkin had some management experience in the lower leagues.

Robins has played at the highest level, and has won trophies. He was well respected as a player and was a house hold name in the early 90's. So he will no doubt have contacts e.g. former team-mates Steve Bruce (sunderland) and Mark Hughes (Man City), also Alex Ferguson (Man Utd) his former manager who's job was said to be saved in the early 90's by Robins goalscoring form. One thing Robins has always had is a winning mentality, and a confidence in his own ability. If he can instill this into the players then I feel we will soon see a big differnce in performance and results. In his short spell in management he has done well under very difficult circumstances. Get behind him!

 

lass at work has pointed out most wins against bottom 6. Still win is a win. If we can beat those around us that wil do.

The contacts Robins has may be better suited to Championship football.

For instance; Hughes, Ferguson and Bruce may not want to loan out their youngsters to League 2 football, they'll develop better in the Championship and we may have first refusal.

Could be a blessing in disguise.
