Please sell McCourt He's really not our sort Or leave him sitting in the stand And Wiseman and TK They should be on their way Axe Perkins, Dawse and Tutu - t'would be grand! Scotland's got to go O'Grady is too slow And 'Jimbo' - what's the point of that? We surely were conned By a manager too fond Of signing every League One and Two .... person!
Absolutely unbelievable how one of the few with an actual bit of skill in our team is bad for 1 game and the fans in their droves are asking for him to be sold, the man has given me most of the very few things to be cheerful about at the football this year and I find it frankly pathetic that he's the one getting the blame. I know that won't go down nicely on here because it's not nearly reactionary enough but people are saying it on twitter to players, too. Know how to make a disenfranchised and demotivated squad even less interested? Slag them off and demand they be sold on twitter. Bravo, BFC, bravo. Also RE: McCourt not trying- the biggest thing you people whine about Dawson is that he's got no skill and is just a trier, McCourt is just the opposite of that and still no one's happy.
Don`t blame McCourt...... Don`t blame McCourt, Paddy McCourt he was as ***** as the rest Cos if you blame McCourt, Paddy McCourt you`ll be facing BigLil in a vest.
Re: Don`t blame McCourt...... We haven't had a skilful flair player that blows hot and cold for so long we don't recognise that's what they do. McCourt for 10 minutes or an eternity of Stephen Dawson trying to control the ball FFS you choose.
Re: Don`t blame McCourt...... To no one in particular. It just drives me spare to be honest. McCourt although a different style of player reminds me of Andersen Da Silva you can spot by half time whether he is in the zone or not if not you need to sub as soon as possible. Sometimes his tricks work sometimes not but at least he's got some.
I can't believe people are still defending that waste of a shirt mc court. He isn't interested full stop. We played with 10 men until he went off. All the sarcastic cheers gave that away when he was taken off. He may have a trick but for 95% of the game he does nowt at all. We need to have men willing to work and fight for the cause. Sorry mate got to disagree he has been just as bad with flicker in charge. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
No we need players capable of creating and scoring goals not toilers who run around for 90 minutes and achieve nothing. Hillcroft is dead stop trying to revive it.
Quite frankly I think he's great. For the life in me, I can't understand why others don't, but you're just as entitled to your opinions as I am. Personally speaking, I'd rather watch five minutes of Paddy than five months of a standard Championship player. I much prefer watching skilful players any day of the week, over dull, run of the mill athletes, completely lacking in vision and imagination, but who run around a lot. Each to their own.
So your telling me your happy for the lazy get to walk around with strop on because it's not go in his way for 60 mind in the hope of him creating something?? It happend yesterday he was pathetic. As soon as he went of the difference was amazing. We actually had 11 players on the pitch. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Personally I would have used a half fit McCourt as a sub but yes I'd rather watch him for 60 minutes than 5000 free games 'starring the Rochdale toilers'. Of course we could try what we did earlier in the season filling the team with battlers. Oh aye we got hammered every week because we invited pressure all the time. If you think that McCourt was our worst player you must have avoided looking at the full backs or Missed Kelvin sauntering round not touching the ball. We looked better when Tompole came on because as a sub he is creative and offers an extra dimension and we looked more comfortable with two up front. McCourt as a creative player has off days and yesterday was one but then so did Martin Bullock, or David Currie or Ronnie Glavin or Ally Millar. I'd still rather watch them than Stephen Dawson's amazing first touch is actually a shot method of controlling the ball innovative that it is.
He's done very little in his time here apart from a couple of moments of brilliance. Those aside he goes missing in games and tries to take on too many players. I think he's more an individual that believes his own hype from fans singing a cheesy 80s song to his name, rather than him being more of a team player. He's a luxary I don't think we can afford in our current position. If we had a midfield of four of him we'd go back to losing games by 3 or 4.
And how many seconds of brilliance have the Rochdale toilers demonstrated in their time at our club? Without him in the side we were losing by 3 and 4 goals a lot of the time so that ratter kiboshes that theory still don't let the facts get in the way. I wouldn't have started with him yesterday but certainly wouldn't have replaced him with a run run run run lose the ball player as we already had 3 of those in midfield. As for carrying him he's in the side to score and create and has done so. If the other outfield players knew how to find space or support the man with the ball we'd be a lot better off. If we were carrying anyone yesterday it was the two full backs and Kelvin.
I don't rate the 'Rochdale Toilers' either. Answered in a thread earlier who i'd keep. McCourt doesn't track back or tackle so not sure how he's stopping us losing by 3 or 4 goals.
At the start of the season we had no outlet ball so every time we looked to play out of defence we just kicked it back to the opposition with more offensively minded players in the team who can retain the ball you invite less pressure onto the defence. As for tracking back and tackling that's not why he's picked. I never noticed Ronnie Glavin or Martin Bullock doing much of either ( not that he's in the class of either to be fair). Again I wouldn't have selected a player not noted for his fitness just coming back from injury to start yesterday and given it clearly wasn't his day would gave subbed him at half time. At the same time he's been one of the main reasons for two of our three wins this season.
