    From League Against Cruel Sports:

Breaking News: I am writing to update you on the developing threat to the hunting ban. We have been informed that a motion to amend the Hunting Act, effectively legalising hunting, could be laid before Parliament within just a few days, most likely being debated on Wednesday 26th March. The threat is real and we have to act now.

The Government have indicated that they are considering amending the Hunting Act by using an Affirmative Statutory Instrument (SI), a type of legislation that can be used to push unpopular changes through Parliament with less scrutiny than a full vote on repeal would require.

This SI would lift the limit on the number of dogs used to flush out wild mammals and in doing so, with a full pack of up to 40 hounds being used, would make the Act impossible to police and undermine the legislation to such an extent it would be made toothless.

We believe the vote could take place on Wednesday 26th March so we need you to contact your MP immediately and urge them to vote against this devious attempt to bring back cruelty.

    Signed.

I look forward to all the pro-hunt lobbyists telling all us townies that we "don't understand the countryside".

    What's to understand?

Looking out of your window and seeing fields means that your opinion on blood sports is more valid than someone who looks out of their window and sees concrete?

There have been 280 prosecutions since the Hunting Act was enforced. I think the government, due to pressure from their chums, are trying to make these changes as a result of that. Due to all the hard work of the various anti hunt groups, wildlife groups, RSPCA & police that's quite a high number and I think the people who commit these crimes weren't expecting that.

I'll sign but I'm more concerned about the legislation allowing the Health Secretary to close down hospitals without consultation

Same here. Signed anyway but the ease at which the NHS is being sold off with plenty of help from Cleggy is scary

Sign the petition for that, I signed one on 38 degrees. Both issues are relevant to my opinions so I'll support both by signing petitions without trying to make one more relevant than the other.
