Stephen Dawson MAY have been arrested but even that doesn't mean he is guilty of anything. Please bear this in mind before starting a witch hunt on here! Maybe also worth remembering we have a relegation battle on our hands and I know some may not like Dawson (e.g. Conan Troutman) but there can be no denying he has been a big part of our recent couple of results!
totally agree. conan has already started rubbing his hands at the prospect of dawson being found guilty and sacked. which frankly, blows my tiny mind. however, this is a huge talking point and within legal reason, i feel everyone should be allowed to have their say on today's news. i hope admin allow that, and govern threads sensibly...
Has he been a big part in our relegation fight i.e he's played well this week just because he knew this was coming and he knew what the backlash would be regarding early season performances and the Huddersfield incident? I can't help but feel this is the case.
Trouble is we have to rely on the posters also behaving sensibly - most do but there is usually some numpty who goes too far - as all the admin actually work there is only so much policing of the board we can do during work time and its often quicker and safer to delete a whole thread than weed out individual dubious posts. I dont think any of the admin team want to stifle fair comment on an important news story but you have been on here long enought to know some people are likely to go too far. I hope not in this case though
I'm sure they will have done a bit of digging before hand. Surly they don't just arrest somebody and then start digging. They must have a good idea in advance to warrant going to arrest someone. He will have know that his name will have been brought up in interviews with other individuals are they may have asked permission from him to access a betting account. This has not just come out of the blue to Dawson, to the rest of us yes but not to him.
Amount of logic to that IF Daws has done anything wrong. But he's only been arrested for questioning at the mo. We have no idea of the line of enquiry, and need to wait for the facts to come out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You think that the only reason he's played well the last few games is because he knew he was going to be arrested?
I think that's what he's saying. It's a hell of a theory. It suggests that before these last couple of weeks he's been deliberately playing *****, I don't know why, and rather than the prospect of arrest having an adverse affect on his game, like it would on the majority of us who would be shitting ourselves, it actually improved Dawson's game. I think that's the gist of it.
I'm not suggesting for a moment he is a serial gambler or cheat. He could have and, I stress could have, made a few bad decisions to earn a few quid. This could have caught up with him and he new what the backlash would be regarding performances and the incident at Huddersfield, so went up a gear, The other theory is that he has obviously done nothing wrong at all and with his impending arrest he new what the backlash would be regarding performances and Huddersfield, so went up a gear.
Exactly. Our excuse for a club statement doesn't mention if he's available or not tomorrow or if we are standing by him or if he's getting fined etc. Basically we know nowt so should chill out until we find out more. If he plays tomorrow we need to get behind him. Two sides to every story. Le Tissier admited in his autobiography to failing with spot fixing & people think no less of him.
Well said gally innocent til proven guilty just hope its not part of the reason for the poor season n before people say yes there are other players in the team but how many games we lost in the last minute
It is important to remember that he is innocent until proved guilty Having said that , it tends to be the other way nowadays
