Do the changes Cameron has negotiated have to be ratified by the European Parliament? None of the leaders of the 28 countries who make up the E U are actual MEP's. So can the European Parliament Members reject or challenge Cameron's changes? If not, what is the point of the European Parliament?
Don't know the answers to the other questions but the point of the EU parliament is what it was formed for and that is to stop the devastation that Europe has embroiled itself in for most of the 18=19th centuries and for that it's worth it IMO even though it's far from perfik
They're not Cameron's changes, this whole thing has been one big charade whereby all parties appear to have got something. It's in the best interest of Europe and the UK that it looks like Cameron has come away with some sort of victory. I believe this outcome was known before it all even started. It hasn't even been the biggest topic on the agenda except for us of course. I believe these changes will be ratified by the Euro Parliament.
The EUs predecessor, the European Steel and Coal Community was formed to bring unity to Western European nations who followed a set of trading rules with the primary aim of stimulating economies and bringing growth after the end of WWII.
