So the first choice 11 now seems to be nailed down, and the first choice midfield 2 of Wolfe and Gomes is the most established part of that. But who should come in if needed, either at the start, or during a game? Options i could think of were:
Hondermarck - midfielder brought in for u23s. Looked promising in his limited first team minutes
Halme - centre back, but played a fair amount in midfield under both Struber and Ismael
Styles - could drop him deeper, where he started the Stoke game.
Benson - the screaming lord sutch of the poll. Won’t win, but someone might vote for him for a laugh
Palmer - the Boris Johnson of the poll. Might get the gig, despite the danger he poses to his own people
Quina - bit of a wild card. If we are to drop somebody deeper, he might be the one with the physical presence and quality on the ball to do the job
Other - any u23s that can do the job? Anyone else that might be able to do a bit part role there that would usually play elsewhere?
None - change formation, either a midfield diamond, or 3-5-2 with Quina and Bassi both in the middle.

    Probably Halme.

We seemingly make the same subs after 70 minutes every game - almost like its in Poya's contract that he must do the same thing every game.

Benson and Palmer aren't the type of player to do the job that's required, whereas Halme at least showed signs of being able to defend and get stuck in.

He's made of glass though it seems.

Have we got any old fence posts lying around the place?

Yes, but we might have to close the west stand again if we move them

Why bother, the manager seems blinded and obsessed with repeating the same mistakes game after game by throwing on players who time after time have failed to make even the smallest impact!

Halme has played OK there in the past and with being out of contract in the summer give him a chance to earn himself a new contract, because right now he's going to be released.

Someone who at least wants to put a square peg in a square hole, not a very good one at this moment in time like.

I’ve gone for Halme in the poll because he’s a trier and would pose a threat if we needed to push up front.
According to Friday’s Chron, Poya says Hondermarck needs to improve his decision making. Well I’d sooner have a grafter who’s decision making may need working on than someone like Palmer whose already on the beach and knows he won’t be at Oakwell come next season.

When Woodrow is ready to enter the scene again , I would bring him on and drop Quina deeper

The fact that Aapo Halme is winning this poll just goes to show how light we are on central midfielders. He's been equally as poor as Benson and Palmer on his odd appearance this season.

I’d drop Quina back once Woodrow is available maybe.

Has he played centre mid at all this season? I thought he'd played centre half under Schopp, until Blackburn at home, then only had the first half in the cup against Huddersfield?

We did desperately need to bring in a defensive midfielder in January, but not to be. If we were in front going into the last half hour against Reading, and Wolfe had to come off again, I'd be inclined to bring bring Kitching on, push Vita further forward and have Styles, or maybe even Quina drop into that Wolfe position. Then we don't have someone struggling to get up to the pace of the game in the centre of the pitch. If we're losing, I'd bring Halme if Wolfe had to come off, bring Iseka on, and move to a diamond formation, Halme - Quina, Gomes - Bassi - Morris, Iseka.
