Still put a shift in though. It wasn't working for him last night, although he did improve in the second half and he put in a few good crosses that no one was there to head in.
Last night wasn't his best game but to be fair despite being poor he still showed effort. Flicker did right to bring him off because he was going to get himself sent off.
such an gifted player really had a stinking bit of form though last few games. I am sure with a bit of confidence and support he will regain his playing stature
He was getting bags of encouragement from the fans, which I think he appreciated. He knew he was having a crap night and was frustrated, but he never stopped trying and did contribute to the win. This is why he's a popular player.
Think he and everyone knew he wasn't having the best of nights. He was getting more frustrated than us. Kept his head down and kept trying though. Why I and a lot of others like him so much i think.
Re: Totally agree Don't you mean "There'll be a gold star at this rate!!"? It's great to see everyone up for the fight, manager, staff, players, fans. I wonder if they can say the same thing at other clubs involved in this battle?
Re: Excellent, mate Don't want to come across as negative but I don't really understand people saying that he had an especially bad night. That's pretty much the same drivel I see from Jim every week. Don't get me wrong he seems a top bloke - great with the fans, great on Twitter and BarnsleyPlayer and everything but aside from a couple of decent crosses I really don't see this 'gifted player' that others see. Maybe I'm always looking the other way... opinions opinions ey
I like him When he's played as a right winger. He's a good crosser of the ball and never shirks his defensive duties for the team, either. When played in a more central role, it's my opinion he's a less effective player. As you say mate, opinions and all that.
Re: I like him Put in three good crosses - 1 in the first 5 minutes and bounced on the 6 yard line and went out for a goalkick because no sod decided to bother going to attack it, one in the second half that went over O'Grady but Scotland was too knackered to get in the box, and one for the goal. Agree that other than that, he had a poor half and was probably our worst player, though not due to a lack of effort on his part.
