    Because they dont represent the city of Nottingham. They represent the county of Notts. (Nottinghamshire). Hence why the second part of their name is "county"

    I knew a Forest fan when I was in the Army and he hated it when we called them Notts Forest, which we did all the time just to see the steam coming out of his ears and his face go a lovely shade of crimson.
