BERES of Hillsboro …..plenty of meatnice JellyPastry ok but bit thick for me so 7/10…….Percy Turner still number 1 and Elmhirst number 2
Barnsley indoor market used to do some lovely pork pies. But I once made the mistake of having one there as a lunch/dinner in one of the Cafe's. All warmed up with mushy peas, absolutely awful it was!!. But the pot of coffee was nice lol, it almost made up for it.
And he wouldnt get a look in if Walkers Butchers on the Wells was still in existence. Best pork pies I have ever eaten.
They used to be. Very poor these days. Done away with the usual crackling and now have some poor imitation. Plus every member of staff in the shop gets to handle the sandwich, and they usually get the order wrong. Shocking customer service.
A warm Percies (not boiling hot jelly down the chin) is a wonderful experience. . Can't speak for my namesake mind. (Melton mowbray ) not tried em.
1. Potters 2. Speeds 3. Percy turner's. Melton Mowbray, bottom of any list. Now we're on the east coast there's some great quality pies and especially Yorkshire sausage rolls.
Fair enough. A few yrs since I had one. (Afore retiring) And i went into Sheffield tuther day. 1st time I've noticed the city centre shop. Allus used to get mine from the one across from the sty. Locally sourced produce.
I hate no idea why the staff treat your sarnie like a game of pass the parcel…….just stick some meyt on it, charge me n I’ll bugger off
Does Percy Tanner still sell em ?. Morrison's used to do them nicely, just freshly warm out of the oven. But then they went downhill I'm afraid.
Pork from Hillsborough, you couldn't make it up. But why would you want to give your money to that area?
