Just seen a bit on SSN of a fan run on to the pitch and chase the ref up the tunnel. Didn’t quite catch it all but I’m sure plenty will be made of it.
Port Vale felt there was a foul in the build up to Portsmouth's penalty. Also, the penalty seemed a little soft (similar to a number we conceeded last season). The 'fan' ran from the opposite side of the pitch to get at the ref, but no steward could be seen. I'll be surprised if Vale aren't in serious trouble.
Imagine how much more trouble, if the fan had got to him. Pillocks like that could mean the return of fences.
Shades of the refereeing fiasco when Liverpool won 3-2 in our Prem season. One idiot got to the middle of the pitch before being rugby tackled by Jan Aage. The day a player or official gets seriously assaulted on the pitch is coming. It’s a case of when, not if
The idiot who ran on the pitch is 62 years old. Just proves there is no age limit to acting like a knòbhead. 'Man, 62, charged after chasing referee at Port Vale' http://www.skysports.com/share/13058539
Should be a big fine and points deduction for that. I know it’s not the club’s fault nor the majority of the fans, but for something like that, they need to make an example quickly and thoroughly. Don’t want to see it happen again.
But reading will more or less get away with 100s running on and actually stopping a game, but yet again the EFL didn't do their job correctly when vetting owners, and i seem to think that has happened before
