That's what two catagories this board is breaking into at the moment. Critise the management team and the team and you are chastised. Defend the management team and players and you are chastised. The facts are since the turn of the year Barnsley have picked up ten points from The games played. Kept one clean sheet. Conceeded twenty one. Scored Eleven. Failed to score in the last four away games. This form is relegation form. If the team fail to pick up points before Easter then over the shoulder well be looking
The obvious positives are not in relegation battle and Hill working to tight budget. Negatives are self imposed such as playing Dagnall and McEveley stubbornly and I wonder if it is simply because the majority don't think they are good enough. That is one battle he won't win with the fans who having attended Oakwell for years know when a player is not up to Championship quality
Positive we have a solvent club that is standing on it own 2 feet and not staring down the barrel like many others appear to be negative nothing i am healthy, relatively fit, have 2 great kids, getting married in a couple of months to a great woman, have some good friends and get to spend most saturdays drinking, having a laugh and watching the team i have supported all my life, im struggling to see what there is to be negative about
We're going through a bad spell but all clubs go through them so I dont see it as a negative just yet. We're 13 points clear of relegation despite this bad spell, we are solvent and we have the best manager we've had in years so all positive for me. We will get through this bad run and next season we will be stronger.
I wasn't courting whati find as a negative or a positive. Just pointing out some facts since the turn of the year. The only opinions offered was a slightly drunken last line. Barnsley ned to start looking ov their shoulder at the chasing pack.
Yep, I think your first three lines really sum it up at the minute and they're both as tedious as each other, they also feed off each other.
You're right it's tedious at times but I don't see it getting any better in the short term. I know it's controversial but I just don't see what there is to be negative about right now (I'm not saying you're negative by the way). If we were 13 points worse off then maybe but we're all but safe and have played some fantastic football at times this season. All on a shoe-string budget. Hill is doing all the right things but it's going to take a couple of seasons at least to see things improve sufficiently enough for the doubters to see it too.
For me negatives are that the standard of performance is as bad as at anytime since we came back up and when you think of the dross Davey served up that is no mean feat. People can bang on about club A does this or club B doing the other but the unavoidable fact is that we have played well for 135 minutes in 2012. The positive is that we live to fight another day. We'll just have to see what happens in the summer but prepare to be disappointed and bored shitless for the next seven weeks.
I have to agree; I am quite concerned about season ticket sales, pay on the day fans and the general atmosphere in Oakwell. It's bad enough this year and I can only see it being worse next season, to begin with at least.
