These are just my own personal thoughts. I'll start with the negatives. . Keith still refers to budgets, better players etc, whenever we lose. Despite saying he wasn't going to do it this season. Whilst I appreciate the gulf in investment opportunity between ourselves and many of our rivals, I don't forget this fact after 24 hours, so I don't need reminding. It may be an excuse, but I'm sick of hearing it. . His obsession with Scott Wiseman. It borders on lunacy. I would understand it more if Wiseman was consistently improving - he isn't. He's 6 foot tall, and can't jump, head or tackle - all vital abilities in a defender. The fact we have the best defender at the club, on the bench, amplifies my anger on the issue. And by not picking a club legend, he's damaging that mans reputation, as some fans have bought into a myth that somehow Hassell's legs have gone, he's past it etc. ******. He gets the rare game here and there, often out of position, and if he's not amazing, he's called past it, again. Nowt to do with his lack of games, fitness? I'd suggest his selection of Alnwick over Steele has been justified until the last week. However, he'll probably not drop him for Hull, which leads me to my next negative. . His ego and self-importance whilst often amusing, often costs us. I seriously believe after a victory - when he takes most the credit - he fails to back it up with another result. He talks about being intelligent, a great strategist, a motivator. But in my mind, he's lacking in all 3 of those areas. The players heads drop like saggy tits as soon as things go against them. And, once they drop, they stay dropped - no motivation. He talks of plans A to Z, yet it's rare we see a plan B - poor strategies. He calls John Stones, John Stone, and plays Wiseman - intelligent? . Positives . His bravery in recruitment. I look at our squad, those he's signed, and often think he must be crackers. But he's found some real gems, amongst the odd actual turd. . He wants us to play football on the deck, and when it works, it makes me proud as ****. When it doesn't, I still admire us for sticking to our beliefs. I never whinge about our style, even though it often gets us nowhere. Because I hate direct *****, and over time the whole club will benefit from it. Ask Hemsworth. Even the bairns pass pass pass. . His interviews/quotes etc. In this modern age, it's better to have a character than a numbnuts. I even laugh when we lose. He's comedy gold. . Endeavour. DNA. Layering. Work in progress. Team Barnsley. All that jazz. . He and Flicker work round the clock for this club. A lot of unseen graft goes in that you'll only appreciate in years to come. Talk to those at the club, and you'll understand. . He went about it in a strange manner, but he lowered the expectation level dramatically last year, and we are now punching above our weight, little ol Barnsley etc... hmmm, that might actually be a negative. . In Keith I trust.
Great post - constructive and critical and in my opinion an accurate summary but disagree about wiseman
