1. It isn't all that bad a drive down and back - everyone should go next year 2. The probable back four for Saturday got about 90 mins together 3. Nardiello wasn't offside once 4. Despite what the armchair plonkers on here have said - we played well and could have nicked a point 5. Free programmes!
Been 7 times - last time for the FA Cup game in 1994. Can remember how soul destroying it was that we had been on the way back an hour and were still not out of Devon & Cornwall!
RE: Cornwall I meant the county. Should have just said Devon probably, but Devon & Cornwall sticks in your head because they are linked together for a lot of things eg. the police. Anyway - it took an hour to get from Plymouth to Exeter. Is that better?
You've just won the football pundit of the day award Perhaps all you can do is look at a result and conclude everything from that. Yes, we very nearly managed to salvage a draw from a disastrous start (where do they get these officials from?). We were positive and creative and had several chances to equalise and think we certainly deserved that. If Anderson's brilinat dribble and thunderous shot on to the bar had gone in then I reckon we would have got a draw. Once the second one went in with about 15 mins to go it was all over but we still attempted to get something out of the game. Pymouth are an attacking team with an excellent home record and never sat back on their lead. Made it an entertaining game. Can't win em all.
Got back up to North Yorkshire by just gone 2.30am. Get home from the local later than that most weeks!
Come on Jay.... An intelligent lad like you must realise that had De Silva's great effort gone in @ 0-1, it could have changed the entire complexion of the game. Sturrock said that we were so resillient with 10 men that he feared for a 1-1 or 1-2 at that stage.
I've been thinking and can't really think of that many negatives from last night. Apart from the officials and the ridiculous stewarding (must have been really bored - going for the higest % of away fans ejected from a ground!). The players all did well. Thought Leon looked a little bit light-weight up against the likes of Nallis but Macken was excellent again and our defence looked solid until we got stretched pushing forwards towards the end.
Down to 10 men after 4 mins, we where always up against and made a decent fight of it in the end it seems. Didn’t go but heard from a mate who went that it was not all bad. Two bad goals and caught out at the end. Could have been different but well played Plymouth, they killed us off and did what they had to do. 3-0 is a bad result if you see the result in the paper but take into account the decisions and a very harsh sending off (Sturrocks words) then try and see through that.
