....apparently 64 - 36 in Birmingham's favour. There's been a lot posted recently on here about the idea that possession is paramount. Today, if I'd been a Birmingham fan, I reckon I'd have been screaming for a more direct approach, with the big bloke up front. Down to 10 men, they stretched us from side to side but seemed more interested in keeping the ball than scoring. Not that I'm complaining. But today was a good example of how mere possession does not win you football matches.
to back up your sentiment here the BBC stats at half time in the Liverpool Vs Man City game seems to suggest that City have the lions share of the game.... but the half time report says Liverpool are dominating. The possession stat is totally no bearing on the actual game.
Funny you should say that, because after we won 3 0 at theirs their fans were moaning that they were too direct and we're impressed with how our centre halves soaked up the high stuff. Lee Johnson would have loved Birmingham today. Loads of possession and tippy tappy football with no end result. Having said that, Heckys substitutions were absolutely spot on today, and we won virtually every second ball around our own penalty area. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
Well he's had someone earlier today regurgitate a post of his from October which despaired that we'd never win another game playing 4-4-2. So he's right at least in his "minority".
