Can anybody see a change to the starting 11, that beat Stoke, for Saturday? Will Hassel maybe be dropped to the bench with Austin keeping his place or will he come straight back into the Team? Or maybe wonder boy Mattis brought into CM? (N)

    Possibly..

Hassell to return and even Eckersley.

Cant see the CM pairing changing unless there are injury problems.

Hopefull Hassel. I know Eckersly is more attacking than Hecky, but I still feel more confident with Heckingbottom in the left back spot. Hope Maybe Richie Jones could make his full debut. I've yet to see him play!

    More confident with Hecky?

He gives me the collywobbles. Not saying Eckersley is the answer, maybe Austin on the wrong foot is the best bet.

reasons for being more confident if Heckingbottom plays please?
Don't think i have ever seen a player with less positional sense than him, in both our last 2games he has been the worse player. If eckersley and hassell are available get them back in the side.

Basically, Heckingbottom is more experienced, he knows where and when to get rid of the ball, first choice usually being up field, whereas Eckersly's first choice is always back to the keeper. How dear did that cost us against Colchester? Hecky may not be as fast or as attacking as Eckersley, but he does get forward, doesn't leave a gap at left back leaving undue pressure on the rest of the defence and sticks in top quality challenges when needed the most.

    Re: Heckinbottom

Doesn't leave gaps at the back?? The guy goes walkabout countless numbers of timesandhe is a constant back tracker when a player is running at him. If Huckerby plays right wing for Norwich on saturday then he will murder heckingbottom. The full back positions are our weak spots and have been for some time.

I think he should stick with the winning team. They all deserve to keep their places and its up to the others to fight there way back in.

However he has given Huckerby special mention so he might change full backs round.

    Just not Mattis I hope

    hassell right back

Austin to left back. Not as attacking, but think Austin is more solid at left back, as long as he doesn't lose it and try kneecapping anybody.

I am also not convince with Eckersley. He looks good going forward but is dodgy at defending. Hecky is a safer bet, and that really is a statement. I would stick with the team that played against Stoke but bring Hassell back in at RB. Maybe Ozzy at LB. For next season, we really need to strengthen our full back choices.

    Agree

don't think it would be wrong to drop anyone from the team that achieved such a brilliant result. I understand and agree with some of the views in this thread, especially those regarding Heckingbottom, but I don't think you can change a winning team, especially after one of our best defensive displays of the season Hassel must got to the bench. Hopefully, so will Kay if this spat has been sorted out.
