POST MATCH COMMENTS FROM OAKWELL Posted on: Tue 16 Sep 2008 REDS boss Simon Davey gave his thoughts following tonight's defeat at Oakwell. Simon said: "We did not perform in the first half. We got back into it in the second half but we huffed and puffed without getting the break through. I think Cardiff had their fair share in the first half and we had 30 minutes that cost us the game. We tried to get back into it after the break but just ran out of time. "I thought Luke Steele and our back four played well but I am sick and frustrated at saying the same things week in, week out. We need to start picking up points. Martin Devaney dropped out with sickness at 5pm and Iain Hume has been taking sleeping tablets for the last couple of days to try and get over his jetlag. At times we looked good but at others we did not. "I thought our set pieces were poor tonight and we should not be hitting the first man like that. You cannot go out there and take it for them so it is up to the players when they cross that white line. "We have a situation now where performances have been good but results haven't. We now have carte blanche to do what we want at Southampton and we have players out of the team who are desperate to get back in. Anderson de Silva will also play in a behind closed doors game tomorrow and he might be ready to go straight back in so we will have to wait and see".

I am sick and frustrated at saying the same things week in, week out Brilliant. Then he goes and says the same thing as usual.....
Performance has been good? No it hasnt He played a player that was on sleeping tablets and left the winger on the bench. Excellent. He CAN influence set pieces by changing who takes them if one player continually takes bad ones. Can he not change it at half time then? Oh and we were **** in the second half. Stop taking us for fools Davey, we were watching the **** that you produced.
The whole chuffing team looked Jet lagged to me....... ...I'm feel bloody jet lagged and I only flew down from Glasgow. So glad I've gone out of my way to watch that drivel tonight. Huffed and puffed sums it up perfectly. - Long balls to Odd job - WHY? - Steele can't kick for toffee - Macken doesn't jump for the long balls - There was too big a space between the forwards and midfield - JCR and Hume didn't use the wings....and in the second half JCR just kept on cutting inside - Moore......it beggars belief how he got man of the match The glimmer of light is Anderson coming back, Muller in for Steele.....and Reading's result against Wednesday. Someone else said "Cardiff didn't break sweat" they were right. Down again for the Norwich game. Plan is to have a skinful pre match. It might, just might be bearable. Just to rub salt in the wound. No hot food at the kiosks in East Stand Lower!
We're sick and tired of hearing and watching the same things every week Simon It's like a broken record, both on the pitch and in your interviews.
