    Can someone tell me why Manchester City and Chelsea are playing each other in America?

    I find it absolutely ridiculous that two Premier League sides can even play each other in a friendly in post season never mind playing it abroad. Isn't that what Pre Season is for?

    Expanding their brand. They need to find the money from somewhere to pay the player's wages.

    I think it's fair enough to go abroad to play friendlies in an attempt to make money, but do it in pre season when it's a help rather than a hindrance to the team.

    This is exactly why we should never accept a league winter break. The top prem clubs will be straight on a plane to China or the USA.
