I don't really care as long as they're good enough. Were you complaining last season when we beat Walsall away 3-1 with; Callum Connolly Lloyd Isgrove Josh Brownhill Harry Chapman Ashley Fletcher In the starting XI What about at Wembley when Ashley Fletcher and Lloyd Isgrove bagged 2 fantastic goals? Josh Brownhill immense in the middle? Kevin Long and Aidy White coming in to steady the ship? Fantastic loans! Were you complaining then? Just get off the clubs back there's no need for it.
Why not respond to my post and give the reason you hate loans so much despite them being so successful recently? Were you against all the loans I mentioned when we signed them and during there time here?
Really does it make sense to have more than five loans when five is the limit in the match day squad. Seems pretty obvious we don't need more than 5.
What about if there is no one available on a permanent transfer who is good enough at this time? Would you rather have a loan player who keeps us challenging for the play off with one left out of the squad on matchday or would you prefer a permanent signing who isn't good enough and we start sliding down the league?
Ideal word we wouldn't need any loans but big clubs buy best players and quadrouple their wages. Due to large squads their game time is limited and they ultimately move on or go on loan. Also big teams attract the best crop of academy players... We rely on loan system. Last season Long, Isgrove, Fletcher, White, Pearson and Brownhill were all key plays that made big difference. We need loans!
How many 10/11/12? We might have to replace another 3/4 players are you suggesting another 4 loans? I'd like to know how you intend to play them.
But we could end up having more loan players than we can have it a match day squad - that seems a bit silly to me.
5 is more than enough. You can't play more than 5. I thought the spreadsheet was meant to highlight potential transfers to replace outgoing so presumably they are lined up. If not relying on loans got us relegated last time. For every Ashley Fletcher there's a Conor Wilkinson.
I think at the moment defensive cover that would be up to speed in the championship is essential, as is cover in midfield, if Conor goes, as I'm not sure Williams or Moncur can play in a two in midfield. Janko is injured? Due back at some stage. Likely other loanees may be ineligible / injured during the season, so having 6-7 isn't really that silly. We'd all like permanent transfers, but getting ones from lower leagues are more of a medium term project than a quick fix.
And Michael Smith. In that example though, the loan system actually helped us. We were able to discover that he wasn't good enough without making a financial commitment beyond the cost of the loan.
Why don't we just not bother having any permanent playera just loan em in. Worked in reverse for Drinkwater and Fletcher and Morsy though.
Having 1/2 players ineligible for each game seems plain daft to me but it hasn't happened yet so I'm not going to panic just yet.
