Not as open this year as it usually is - few candidates have stuck out but there are a few who could stake a claim. I'm not sure who my choice is yet - a good performance on Sunday and a possible trophy could sway a few votes. Just wondered who's everyone's choice this year
It will be interesting to see who gets the Player's player award , for me it can often be a better indicator than the fan's choice.
A lot of players have come to the fore since Xmas. But the upturn coincided with arrival of Hammill. Connor, Marley, Sam, Alfie, Davies deserve a nomination too. It's a bit early to call, still so much to play for.
My choice for POTY 1.Conor Hourihane 2.Marley Watkins 3.Sam Winnall Young Player Of The Year James Bree
For me, no-one has made more progress than Alfie Mawson. Initially burdened with the captaincy, Alfie struggled at first and made one or two errors. As the seaon has gone on he has looked more and more solid. Now that the defensive side of his game is improving, the fact that he has a fair bit of skill on the ball and that he can take a free kick and score a header are valuable assets. He is also growing into the role of an on the pitch leader. To cap it all off, he has been a terrific ambassador for the club and has played his part in the community. An outstanding asset to the club - one on whom we should build going forward. Alfie gets my vote.
Hourihane stands out for the improvement he has made. Transformed from a good player to an outstanding one.
Conor Hourihane will be getting my vote. He's the complete player now and even when he has a bad game, still has some influence on the game. Mawson second and Watkins third. Young player of the year has got to be Adam Davies if he falls into that category. If not, James Bree.
Disagree. The players player of the year can be heavily influenced by a player's popularity off the pitch. Jimmy McNulty won't it a few years ago. Jimmy ******* McNulty.
Choice of 4 for me. Hammill has transformed our season and would be a worthy winner. No one deserved it in the first half of the season anyway. Hourihane has stepped up and has adapted his game. Winnall has bagged the goals. Watkins has been a steady performer and has worked hard all year - the dark horse for POTY.
I`ll second that, he`s finally took on board what managers have been trying to get him to do. Hope he keeps it up cos he his only going to get better. IMO like.
