There are only 2 decent refs. Half spend more time talking and not watching the game. Am not even sure what planet bill is on.

What's the crack with Powerleague? They have put a proposal in to develop a site in Leeds but the locals are in uproar about it - I thought it looked OK. Objections have included that they have strippers on in the bar, and that they promote a laddish culture.....ballocks I imagine, but who knows.

I've played at a few, play up at The pitts (Powerleague) in sheffield currently. Its just organised 5 a side leagues/tournaments, Think people can also hire the pitches too. There's a bar but as far as strippers go well, i wish.

No strippers in barnsley. Its just 5-a-side pitches which you can hire by the hour or play in leagues. There is a bar but it doesn't get many people other than the players, although you can hire it and the small function room out.

Be warned - the bar is nowhere near as cleand or nice as the pictures of it suggest. There are loads of tw+ts at the Kendray one - of course dictated by the location. If you are a fair team perhaps try elsewhere.

Used to play for Barnsley Bullets...

We were untouchable at one point. Classic encounters with High Flyers and Garlic Bread were always awesome.

When we were playing in the Premiership, there was a gap in the league - so they put a team in who had just started up. Real Penillyscoe or something, poor saps - we beat them 40-0 - it was a record for the 5 a side league then (1 year ago), not sure if it still stands.

You mean the Portuguese Man O' War?

Yeah, that's our team. I was the goalie, got player of the season 2 season running.

Most likely. Just like the rest of the league.

5 seasons. 4 trophies and 2 player of the years between us. Not that average. By the way, you did realise it was me who got the POY awards and not the Man O war mate.

He was pretty good though and looked your best player by a mile. We have gone well downhill since then so I can't say too much. Although we never used to have a keeper so pretty much any shot on goal went in against us.

Anyway am off, cos we have an early kick off this week so I need to get down there!</p>
