Those that were left might have seen Lee Westwood going and talking to Barnsley fans behind his nets. It looked at first as if there might be an altercation, but Westwood talked to the people, and gave some kids who came his gloves, waterbottle and towel. At the end he shook hands with those round him, and received a good round of applause from the fans left in the Ponty. Well done to the bloke.
RE: Its Sunday morning - be charitable To be fair I can't remember his 1st name myself. Is it Keiron? Not 100%
yeah 66 agree mate, saw him discussing something with the fans n thought an altercation was on the way...he seemed to be apologising for something? cud have been on behalf of Mr Tanner? or Mr Davey? or any of the red shirts?
he would have been apologising for when he squirted a load of kids with water from his water bottle after they had been chanting songs about his mum half way thorugh 2nd half.
He's the best goalkeeper in the Championship by far. He makes it look very, very easy. Regarding the altercation; some kids WERE giving him some abuse just after Coventry's second goal. He looked (obviously) bemused at the halfwitted chavs directing their frustration at him. One of the chavs looked to 'offer him out' so to speak, by throwing a couple of fists into the air, to which Westwood responded by basically saying something like 'fair enough, I'll see you after the game'... I didn't see him give his gloves away, but if he did, then it's only further evidence of the guys character. Top guy and a top class keeper, who will be in the Premier.ship very soon
Some pricks at front were giving him sum grief in second half, he seemed to deal with it well though..
