Any particular areas to be avoided by Reds fans? Cheers.

    Yeah, that's what I thought!

Is Eccleshall road away friendly or just full of disinterested students?

Straight out of the train.........and then anywhere from the Red Lion down towards their ground.
    Love Sheffield
    Great supporters
Hate Barnsley SCABS that support Sheffield United

To be honest I don't know about Eccy Rd. i'd go to Kelham Island/ Fat Cat and get a taxi up. That's if you want a hassle free decent beer.

Devonshire cat is the best pub in the city in my opinion. About a 15 minute walk to the ground. Eccy road is fine mix of students and football fans on a Saturday.

20 mins walk 5 mins cab ride but opposite direction to ground. Still best place to go if you have time. Dev Cat is ok , Eccy Road also got some decent bars but Kelham Island is quality if you like proper pubs, decent folk and the best ale / homemade snap

Last time I went to Bramall Lane (2008) we went on Eccleshall Road before the game. Didn't see a Utd fan despite it being so close to the ground.

We lost 1-0 but I missed the goal because I was watching an owl fly over the stadium. Barn owl. Lovely plumage.

You'll be fine anywhere mate, Sheffield has more people in it that don't give a flying f*ck about football than do and it's full of students, I've rarely known the pubs in the centre have any policy on who they let in and don't.

Avoid the back roads going towards the ground, down near some of the uni buildings. Walked that way when I was about 15 and never have I ever felt more intimidated in my life. We'll probably go to a few bars in the centre then walk down through the shopping area.

Sheffield in general is pretty decent to be honest.

I'll be having a few on division street too. Frog and parrot, bungalow and bears and common room all decent bars.

Not sure who's playing early kickoff but common room will have any live football on. As will champs on Eccy road.
