Anyone been to Bournemouth before and able to recommend a venue for beerage? I'm told the closest pub to the ground is The Queens Park Hotel. They let away fans in and there is a council car park nearby, making it a possible. However, I suspect both pub and car park may be packed to the rafters on matchdays. So any other sensible suggestions would be welcome.
Last time I went Stuart Gray was playing for us and we beat the cherries to go top of div2.
Soon we played villa and played gray out of pos. lost 0-1 I think and sold gray to villa shortly afterwards thus ending promotion chances.
As for boozers cant even remember the score that day (2-1 to reds?) never mind a place for a beverage.
Actually now I remember it was august bank holiday monday. We set off at 8ish and got to bournemouth for opening time (pre speed cameras). found a few boozers on the sea front.

I was in there a couple of years ago I cant remember whether we were in there last year or in the portman. btw whoever said that the Queens Park is 3 mins from the ground must be related to Michael Johnson - I seem to remember it was more like 10.
will hopefully find out in morning where going will post on here when i know which boozer. otherwise its a case of look 4 a pub with reds fans again for me
Definitely avoid the club car park if you can as it is horrendous to get out of. It took us almost an hour to leave the car park last year! If I remember rightly there is alternative parking off the dual carriageway leading to the ground. We met in the Queens last time and, as Farnham says, it's a good 10 minute walk.
It was indeed 2-1 to Barnsley and the first goals Bournemouth had conceded at Dean Court that season. Their manager said that we had shown them what standard they needed to attain in that, their first season at "Championship" level. Barnsley leapfrogged Bournemouth to go top, but neither team finished in the top six that year if I remember correctly. Always remember that day fondly, as it was the first time I had acknowledged to myself that we might have a realistic chance of going up at some point in my lifetime!
Cazi's right. We parked in the official car park the last two seasons and it takes up to an hour to get out. Determined to find the council one on the opposite side of the dual carriageway this time.
2 years ago I parked in the official car park And it took over 1 hour to get out. Last season I parked on a side road about 5 mins from the pub and 10 mins from the ground - I was on my way out of Bournemouth as soon as I'd walked back to the car.
