I'm really intrigued as to whether the glass half full, pessimistic, whinging, negative, "the club can't do owt right", anti-Khaled, "I'm gonna burn my season ticket" people amongst us feel that the latest two signings (with possibly more to come) might calm them down a trifle? Possible but probably not.
All this stuff is getting boring now, time to stop bashing fellow fans and look forward to the new season in my opinion.
Are threads like this really very different from the tinpotters you’re criticising though? I know you’re a big Club advocate and that’s brilliant, but tbf we’ve signed Max Watters and a bloke from Solihull Moors. Hardly Mbappe and Kane. No need to poke the bear mate…and I think you mean ‘glass half empty’
But as far as I can see the bashing fellow fans is literally coming from one direction?? So if you are a glass half empty type who have highlighted legitimate concerns you are labelled negative or whinging. We even have a new thread started by Khaleds personal ring piece cleaner above, unbelievable Jeff.
I'm not looking to bash anyone DD. I'm actually curious to see whether this transfer activity might change some views. Its an appropriate time to ask because, on the face of it, this is good, positive news. It's also relevant because this board has been flooded with incessant, unfounded criticism of the club and, in particular, the owners, at a time when all that is needed is patience and perspective. That's all.
Today we have added 30 goals to our season with these two. Norwood and Cole contributing another 30 between them. You attacking reds
Indeed I do. Glass half empty. Sometimes the bear does need poking otherwise it will continue to maul unnecessarily.
Glass half empty isn't the problem. An empty one is. And there are one or two. Refusing to buy or wanting to get refunds on a season ticket. In one case cos they hadn't recieved their pass 2/3 weeks b4 the season starts. Wonder if it was followed through. Hopefully just a frustrated comment. Your last paragraph doesnt do you any favours. Embarrassing really. The poster is releasing what is seen as frustration in my view. Because this has to be one of the worst close seasons ever for attacks on fans with differing views.
Very good piece of business bringing max watters back. Can’t really comment on other lad yet but time will tell if he can make the step up or not. We have only used 1 loan so far so let’s hope we utilise this to get in some top players we wouldn’t have been able to afford on perm.
The comment about the loan market is probably the key take from this situation. The PL touring/preseason squads are full of young players who arguably won’t be at their club when the season starts and it’ll undoubtedly have a knock on effect filtering down the divisions. I fully expect us to have 3 or 4 loanees from the PL/Championship to bolster the ranks by the time the window shuts. It’s not ideal it being after the season starts but that’s the nature of the window, unfortunately.
