    ..........and become a player worth at least a £££ MILLION.........only to sign for another club for nowt in the summer

    Because there's nowt been put in his current contract that gives the TARN the first option if he comes good -

    end of the day it would still be upto the player to sign for us even if we had a first option in place. would be nice to see a player improve then show the people that helped him some loyalty.

    I would like to have seen him sign for (say) 18 months.

    I'm not convinced there is anything in this current arrangement (even if he is playing for nothing).
