For the first time I honestly feel we are in free fall and will not be able to reverse the current demise. Relegation looks a certainly. Patrick steps down and is replaced by a local businessman without Patrick's deep pockets. Lee Johnson to be replaced with an ex player like Hignett. Desperately hope I'm way off the mark.

Did you not think that when you were consistently requesting the sacking of Wilson then? If not, why did you want him sacked?

That was a joke based on the previous weeks posts about the same situation.

Jay I believe that the previous manager had shown nothing in the past 15 years to suggest he would be successful. I feel the support for him then and now was purely based on events many years ago and was not relevent to situation we found ourself in.

I can understand why that would mean he wasn't your choice of manager and why you would have much preferred we looked elsewhere, but not why you would constantly demand his sacking. That doesn't mean you should have been singing his praises or owt, but sacking managers costs money that puts us at a disadvantage and, as we've proved time and again, the next one in won't necessarily be an improvement. I understand everyone's point of view who believes we should sack Johnson, we've lost 7 league games on the spin and been dumped out of the cup by a semi-professional side, so although I'll not be joining in, I understand the sentiment perfectly. But although last season wasn't great, it was nothing like what's happening now and despite the club's spin on the situation we were never in danger of relegation. Or if we were, then you must concede we had just as much chance of the play-offs as the points difference was exactly the same.

I suppose it's all water under the bridge now, I honestly thought we should and could have done better in the recruitment process. The present incumbent proves the people making the decisions haven't a clue.

Wilson deserved to be sacked, he should never have been reappointed and LJ shouldnt have even come into consideration for appointing.

I agree with your second point but not the first.

You believe Wilson had earned a Championship (as it was then) managerial position on the back of what he'd done for the previous 15 years? Never in a million years, it was an appointment to try and connect with the fans even though a percentage of whom, including me, would have rather have contracted aids than have a bloke who walked out on us for Wednesday.
