As we are all aware Norwich are desperate for the win to ensure survival and maintain their Championship status. however, with Birmingham losing at the weekend Reading could still clinch automatic promotion if other results go their way. Just had a look on Norwich forums and it seems that they are comfident of a win, a little optomistic considering Reading will be fired up know that they still have a chance to clinch second spot. My ideal scenario would be for Norwich to get spanked 6 or 7 nil to even up our goal differences but Reading haven't been in hot goal scoring form as they were early season. So I very much doubt it would happen. FORM GUIDES NORWICH (Home form) - DLWWLW READING (Away form) - DWDDDW Reading are unbeaten on the road in their last 6matches, but have only two wins to their name. Norwich will be without in form striker David Mooney, but will be up for this one. Therefore I predict a draw. Plymouth fans will also be backing Reading tonight, as anything other than a win for Norwich would confirm their (Plymouth's) safety. The last thing we want is to have an us or them situation against them in the final match of the season. Hopefully they will be safe before last day and players will have on eye on summer break.
Plymouth recent Home form - DWDLWL and Last 6 - LWWDLD Very indifferent form...... hard to say from that! lets just hope Norwich don't take all 3pts tonight.... to give us a boost on the last day
We'd need at least an 8 goal win by Reading to give us any possible GD advantage. As it stands Norwich are 5 better off but have scored quite a few more than us, so even a 7-0 defeat for them tonight would mean they'd finish above us with a win for them and defeat for us at the weekend. I predict a draw tonight - and then on Sunday us to be winning and Norwich drawing with 5 mins left, then we concede a late equaliser and Norwich get a late winner to send us down on GD. Sorry.....just feel very pessimistic at the moment about it.
Reading's automatic promotion hopes is in their own hands beat Norwich tonight, and brum next week, and they go up on goal difference.
RE: Reading's automatic promotion hopes is in their own hands Not quite true, as if they win on Sunday it could let the scum from Bumhole Lane in if they win at Palace. Reading can only go up with 2 wins and SUFC failing to win on Sunday.
And with Warnock manager of Palace I think its a near certainty that the Blunts will go up if Reading beat Birmingham.
RE: And with Warnock manager of Palace I think the exact opposite Although he is a Sheff Utd fan, Warnock definitely holds a grudge against Blackwell and McCabe and will do all he can to stop 'em
No chance he's a Blade, no way will he want to go down in history as the man who took them down AND stopped them getting back up. 3 nil walk over.
yes chance my bro in law is a palace fan and the noises coming from there is that Warnock is a fan of Warnock... he'd love to spoil the plans of the two Kevins</p>
RE: Reading's automatic promotion hopes is in their own hands ok, didn't realise sheff u were on 79 points now.
Reading have nothing to lose tonight .... they are safely into the play-offs and, if you offered their players two wins to automatic promotion, or two league games plus three more matches through the play-offs plus an extension to the season, I know which I would rather aim for. Coppell should gee them up with the idea that they have nothing to lose by going 'gung-ho' tonight. They should have Doyle baqck up front and raring to go and whatabout Leroy Lita coming back to 'do a Cureton' on Norwich? What goes around, comes around, eh! I think that Palace v Blunts will be a draw on Sunday, so Reading could make it if they win both games.
all eyes will be on colin sunday, and of course you never know when you'll need a favour off some club in future.lets be honest ...if we do stay up we'll be indebted to tractor boys... imagine blunts needing a favour off hammers..not gonna happen is it....and would kevin blackleg do colin a favour...actually he probably would
norwich draw and norwich draw/lose against charlton - shouldn't matter about our result, safe already !
