    Yep we really needed a player that has not played a competitive match in 4 years .

    That stat has to be wrong surely, not played a match in 4 years, 3rd choice then 2nd choice at Scandanavian sides?

    I mean...

    He is a keeper who is not expecting to be the number one keeper. Barring injuries, he will be happy to be a bench warmer. The last thing we need is a situation like last season where we have 2 keepers who both think they should be number 1.

    Or is that only for strikers?

    From what I remember this guy is a solid keeper

    But that's only what I saw of his Darlington and Aberdeen days. Similar to Luke Steel in many ways, good shot stopper but scares the **** out of you when the opposition pump the ball high into the box.

    Plenty of goalkeepers have spells without playing competitive football, I bet Steve Harper at Newcastle only played 30 games in 8 years or something daft like that.

    Because youngsters are prone to mistakes however talented they are (Mannone). He should bring plenty of experience who can do a job for the odd game here and there if needed. Perfect signing IMO.

    Why not indeed?

    Decent point, I think we will have a junior keeper as well in the course of time. But in reality the back-up keeper is not that important, in my opinion. If Steele gets injured, or sent off, Preece will come on and do his best. If his best is not good enough, we will get someone in on loan.

    Anyway the main thing is to sort out the strikers. We need someone to play upfront alongside Oddjob.......................
