I know, on Thursday night let's all go on Praise & Grumble let's all slag off the team that's in 7th place in the league. Let's get on Andy Ritchie's back, as that'll do him loads of good. On Friday night we can all come onto the BBS and slag of some players - definitely Richards & Hayes, and maybe a couple of youngsters just to destroy them before they've got into their careers. Then on Saturday we can all wake up feeling miserable. Get down to the Mount / Outpost/ Weatherspoons and berate the team a bit more, just so that we are fully ready to boo every missed kick, scream & shout at any mislaid pass. As the team is announced we can boo the players we don't like, just to ensure that any remaining confidence is drained out of them. We can then sit back for 80 minutes making no attempt to encourage or sing - well the season is after all over now that we're one point of the play offs. Just no point in trying to get behind the team. Then, with 10 mins left we can all get up & leave Oakwell, proud with ourselves that we were right all along - The Reds just don't want to go up. At least if we leave early we can be first in line on Praise & Grumble. Alternatively we could get behind em... 6 games to go and every chance of going into playoffs. Sometimes I wonder what people want. I realise that we aren't firing on all cylinders but seems to me alot of folks would take greater pleasure from saying "I told u so" if we don't go up. We're beginning to sound like bunch of Blades fans.
at the games I get behind em in the week its my turn to vent the frustration at us throwing it away but also give credit where credit is due.
Oakwell is like a morgue! Unless we take an early lead there is no atmosphere in the ground. The fans have a huge part to play is all I'm saying, and all this stuff on local radio & on here just breeds negativity. It's amazing we have only lost once at Oakwell when you see how some of our players get berated by fans at games. People are entitled to have a moan but it has gone way over the top this week, at the most critical part of the season.
to be fair last home game the fans got right behind them in the second half tried to push them on to victory. It wasnt to be, but points are still there to be played for so lets make some noise we can moan in may if we dont make it
RE: to be fair Any neutral fan would think that there is nothing to play for is they looked on here.... I can't believe the way some fans are, they'll still moan if we go up.
RE: to be fair Agreed we've got to get behind em, be positive and hope for the best. now is not the time to be overly critical as it is going to do us no help whatsoever. At the end of the day if you were asked in august if you would take 7th one point away from playoffs on 4/4/06 i think we would all have taken it! COME ON LADS N LASSES GET BEHIND EM
from where I was sitting ..... No noise whatsoever from Ponty end - the only noise was generated by kids in North stand.
In last 25 + seasons bet we've only had chance to go up at this stage in maybe 5 of them At this stage of season, Ican only remember a handful of occasions when we have realistically had a shout of promotion:- The play off year, the year we went to prem, and the year we beat Middlesbro last game & we thought we'd made it to play offs. That's wht we should all grab this chance to stop moaning & start cheering.... it might be another 5 years til we get close again.
We'll be back in the play-offs on Saturday... because i think we'll win easy, and i also fancy Richards to score too.
I think Forest will beat Colchester, which will take us above them on goal difference.
Its going to be tight, and it could go either way, but i agree, we should get behind em 100%. We've as much chance as anyone else has.
This league is *****, anyone can beat anyone, its been proved a million times before.

RE: We'll be back in the play-offs on Saturday... People have to look at Wednesday last year - a very average side in a crap league. We just need to get behind em and see what happens. If we don't do it, let's have a big moan when the season is over but no now. I hope you're right & Richards does score on Saturday - why folks want to slate a guy who works his socks off week in week out beats me.
Indeed Sure, I was frustrated with Ricco on Saturday, but no more than he will be with himself. He works very hard for the team and don't think he deserves stick.
