    Naughton..........£5 Million
    Lowton.............£3 Million

Slew £1 Million.......and now it looks like even Blackman has gone for £1.2 Million

If out nearest and dearest can get this sort of money for players on a quite regular basis.......Barnsley fans are of course looking at PC and The DON to see what they can do in light of a much much bigger talent that they have in their possession called John Stones

If he stays we can stop up. He goes and I think we will go down. That's my simple opinion. We look so more solid in this formation with him in it. We hold the cards here (for once) its about time we played our hand to suit us.

    NOT FOR SALE!

Just imagine, if PC donated a quid for every full stop you used? That would be awesome

I know we won't get this amount, but if Lowton is worth £3m, Stones is worth £5m. I think Stones' potential is more akin to Naughton than Lowton. I've seen Lowton getting ripped apart by Bradford's wingers, floating aimless balls forward and never looking comfortable in the Premiership. He played most of his games for the Blades in their relegation season and League One. Yet it appears we MAY be getting less than what he went for. Crazy. This is the ONE instance where the player in question won't hold the club to ransom, he supports us and loves the club. That gives us a magnificent bargaining position, as well as the long contract. So different to a random player with 6 months left who couldn't care less about leaving us.

If you look back at the players Sheffield United have sold in tha last few years then you are looking at something in the region of ££££ 50 to 60 MILLION

FFS..........they got 2.2 MILLON for Tonge

PS.......they even got £1 MILLON for a relatively unknown kid........Jacob Mellis

I don't want him to go because we simply won't get a fair price for him and some premier league vultures will reap all the benefits for a small outlay. This £3m that keeps getting mentioned would be an insult IMO but it's not me negotiating so I can't influence the price.

But the trouble is, our assets go for nothing because we put them on one year contracts, or dont offer contract extensions.

Sheffield United get their young players on 3 year deals as soon as they have a good game.

We've done that with Stonesy, so we should be hoping for AT LEAST £3Million for him now. I say keep hold of him for another couple of years and get his contract extended again if possible. We dont need to sell him.

when you say 'we don't need to sell him', what's that based on exactly? as i see it, we lost 2.4m in revenue last season. the stayaways are clearly not going to help us out, so where is that funding gap coming from? if we go down, the funding gap will get even greater, player budget will be cut yet again and Stones' value will actually probably half. So, on what are you basing 'we don't need to sell'? The temptation must be huge, if someone meets the valuation tomorrow

We break even this season by beating Burnley in the cup. If hill was on the reported 200k a year we will pay his severance with the extra from the cup since. If we go down many players won't stay (most are on 1 year contracts anyway). We will only have a funding gap IF we want the same budget next year as this year. If we go down we won't be using the same budget and will sign even cheaper players. We don't NEED to sell. Everybody chill art....

so you wouldn't want to see the Club maintain the player budget and have a proper crack at an immediate return then? fair enough.

How come a player who is valued at least 3m in the championship suddenly becomes less valuable because he team he plays for has been relegated. Class is class, potential is potential choose what division a player is in. All those scouts at the game last night wont suddenly think stones is no good if we get relegated. Good job Manu utd signed Powell when they did because had he shot crewe to another promotion he would have been worth almost 20 million given his price would double with every promotion

No i'd not want the club to gamble with an immediate return to the championship by risking our future.

I didn't say anything of the sort. My point is review at the end of the season. Don't sell in this window. Gives us a better chance of staying up

I actually agree, I don't think we should sell in January. But I don't think everybody fully appreciates what a £3m bid means to the longer term future of a Club in our position. Not as clear cut as a lot of people like to suggest.
