Former Elland Road favourite Andy Ritchie is expecting Leeds United to come out fighting at Oakwell on Saturday.
Ritchie, who scored 44 goals in 159 appearances for United between 1983 and 1987, is no stranger to Yorkshire derby clashes, and is steeling his Barnsley side for a tough encounter with his former club.
"There's a new regime at Leeds and Dennis's teams will play in the style of him as a person and a player," explained Ritchie. "They'll come out and they'll be up and at you. They won't give us a minute's peace.
"It's not a great time to be playing Leeds, but it's a derby match and there's plenty of pride at stake.
"Leeds hadn't kept a clean sheet for as while, but Dennis comes in and then they do.
"He will definitely get his philosophy across, but I hope we can use what we've got to overcome that."
While United sit one place above the Coca-Cola Championship relegation zone, Barnsley are second-bottom of the table and are also in desperate need of points.
Barnsley have to look back to September for their last win and have lost six of their last seven matches, including a Yorkshire derby defeat at Hillsborough.
"We're not playing that badly," insisted Ritchie.
"We've played well and not got what we deserved from games. I'd take playing badly and scoring one in the 90th minute."
United fans are reminded that Saturday's game is ALL TICKET and no tickets will be available on the day of the game.
Tickets went off sale at Elland Road on Thursday November 2.
To hear the Andy Ritchie interview in full listen to Yorkshire Radio for the big match build-up.
