Anyone who is upset with the current incumbent of the BFC managers position (and I include myself in that) tends to get the stability argument chucked back at them. Out of interest, how many of the managers post-Wilson do you think deserved longer in the role?

    Simon Davey
    Andy Ritchie
    Paul Hart
    Gudjon Thordarson
    Glyn Hodges
    Steve Parkin
    Glyn Hodges
    Nigel Spackman
    Eric Winstanley
    Dave Bassett
    Eric Winstanley
    John Hendrie

I thought Gudjon (as with Mad Mel) did a good job under difficult circumstances, but outside of Bassett (and possible Ritchie) I've agreed with the boot for each one of them. I know that Fergie/Wenger have had time to build but they weren't totally incompetent to begin with - most of the above list were complete clowns. Wenger never tried to buy Paul Gibbs.

RE: Ritchie, Thordarson, Bassett and Hendrie

Agree with all them particularly Gudjon who worked miracles in the first half of the season

Wonder what he could have achieved if Ridsdale showed him the same level of support he showed PHart?

    A bit harsh

To include Winnie on that list when he was only ever caretaker manager & therefore keeping the seat warm.

    RE: A bit harsh

It's a list copied from Soccerbase.

Personally, I'd love someone like Winnie back at the club - I don't think he was ever in with a chance with the role full-time so he's not really been 'sacked' from it either.

He was a clown of the highest order..

Wembley or no Wembley. Let decent players like De Zeeuw go and brought much of the dross in that got us relegated

Thordarson, Hendrie and Ritchie. What have they achieved after they left us? Nothing.

We played great football that year

Probably one of the most entertaining seasons we've ever had while I've been watching the team. A lot of the players were probably lost that season because of the financial situation - some of those players would havebig money for us - losing Higgy was the big one

De Zeeuw had gone stale at barnsley though and he needed to move on at that time, cant understand why people think thordarson should have had more time, watching lee crooks and garry monk in centre midfield, no thanks, and sum of his signings, handyside, gallimore, carson, stallard, rocastle.

    Thordarsson

It's a thin line between genuis and insanity. LOL!

In his defence, he had next to no time to even assemble a team, never mind a decent one.

Lots of managers play with two stoppers in central midfield - there's nothing odd about that. IIRC, he also lost Dean Gorre...

    Yes and...don't laugh

Rory Fallon, who was doing a job for him up front on his own.

He had little or no alternative to some of the lineups he chose. Treated very badly IMHO

    two stoppers..........

garry monk and lee crooks were a lot of things but stoppers does'nt spring to mind, holding midfielders have to have a little bit of a footballing brain, he was so negative and boring.
