Worrying thing is that season, we had to stay up with a 93rd minute away goal at one of the best sides in the league. Roll on West Brom. Need to bin him off as soon as to have any chance looking at those stats.
So ignoring last years ‘unique season’ no crowd pressure, 5 substitutes, an on loan brute of a striker, the only difference on the field is a midfield maestro, then we are exactly where we were, ok we did have the advantage of a motivating coach with a new style of play (although teams were beginning to work us out as the season went on.) It does look like we have got carried away with the dizzying heights of the play offs. Let’s be realistic we are at our level.
We're 5-8 points behind where we were for 6 out of the 8 seasons there. So I respectfully disagree. We could and should be doing better.
True enough we should be doing better, but l meant that it’s the same basic players in the last two seasons.
