Years ago there used to be a scheme where it was x amount before hand then y on the gate.

So why not next season £20 until 1300 day of the match then £25 on the gate.

Family ticket - 2 adults 2 kids upto 18 £40 quid or £60 on the gate.

Season tickets- Fatha n son ticket upto 18 400 quid anywhere in ground
Family - 600 quid anywhere in ground.

people would still moan they do now about having to buy before hand as a member, people can't be arsed and use the cost as a scapegoat,

Do people lead busier lifestyles these days though which along with the higher travel costs means that going down to Oakwell in advance to buy a ticket puts people off?

And yet when the price was reduced and (heres the key point) ADVERTISED, thousands more fans turned up and the club made more money. Amazing how that works isn't it.

Not if you advertised it correctly.

Comical used to have the next four home games advertised. Plenty of scope.

Rubbish. Are you saying people like myself are lying about the cost keeping us away?

You are like the Club you just don't listen to what the pay on the day fans are saying.

Cost is a big issue for at least 15 long term fans I know.

See my post from last week about using a paperless system: http://v2.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showthread.php?179899-Idea-to-get-more-people-in-to-Oakwell

I'm still very confident that this is a sure fire way of increasing attendances with the worst case scenario being a few hundred but it would build up over time as it becomes more and more convenient for people.

This could easily be adapted to allow people who purchase tickets prior to the game to get a discount, but tickets could be purchased over the internet or telephone. If they insisted on keeping the membership this would allow that to be applied to your account and you could buy tickets without having to go to the box office.
