Too fecking dangerous for his men my arse .

But it's ok for working class lads to get their B*ll*cks blown off.

What is the point in being in the Army if you are not allowed to do the job?

    We shouldnt be there anyway,

I reckon he will be going there undercover and its an announcement to put the "insurgents" off the scent.

Never mind he'll still be able to keep the uniform to play toy soldiers................

Its been a load of ****** from the beginning (IMHO) make plenty of mouth about how he wants to go and do his bit,get somebody to stir the press up about how dangerous its going to be for his unit safe in the knowledge that he is never going to ber allowed to go.

Lad must be one of the few in the Country who can't fight for there Grandmother.

No point in him being in the Army.

To be honest if I were the parent of one of the soldiers in his regiment I would be relieved, as they wouldve had extra pressure on them.

    Nowt but a big con-job...

A PR exercise - make it look like there was a chance of him going when all along the only action he was ever gonna see was in the West End nightclubs.

Also gives the monarchists an extra straw to clutch at in the future - "well he wanted to serve but the nasty government wouldn't let him"...

    Parasitetastic...

Sending a Christian future King of England to fight in an Islamic country where many Iraqi's see foreign troops as part of an imperialistic occupation is outright stupid. If I was an Iraqi i'd probably want to shoot him too.

Talking about shooting royalty - controversial!

Are you a communist, young man?

    :D

Nice avatar, by the way. I got the entire DC Comics print of V off eBay a few weeks ago - ten issues, mint condition...

    Revolutiontastic!

Anything but a Communist, but if the UK was under occupation and the invading army sent their future King over to fight, chances are most people here would want a pot shot. Why should Iraqis be any different. Imagine if he was killed, we'd have all manner of nutters calling to flatten Iraq with nukes and God knows what else.

Daft idea to train him in the first place - well at a time when the PM is keen on invading other peoples countries.....

Sense prevails in my opinion ' Who the hell would want to stand side by side with him? FFS he'd a been a liability .

Besides there's more time for nightclubs etc like you say and that luscious bint hes got
    (heart) ....Would yeah.

I wouldnt want a son or daughter of mine fighting alongside such a prize as him .... (dunno) ....

    Agree entirely...

I was only joking - the communist thing was a reference to the Russian Revolution - shooting the monarchy?

Very good doesn't do it justice - you've seen the film, right? That doesn't do it justice, neither...

Imagine Orwell's 1984 with hand grenades and a happy ending and you're almost there!

Whats communism got to do with getting rid of the monarchy? nt

I agree, who would want to serve alongside him?

Which is exactly the point a lot of people have made - if he can't serve for that reason what's the point in having him in the forces apart for him to ponce about in uniform looking important?

    I'm not sure now...

    I can't remember it!

    :-|

I don't remember it being quite as happy as the ending of V for Vendetta...

Do you think we would become a communist state if we got rid of our monarchy?

I think it was the bolsheviks that got rid of the monarchy in Russia , I think "communism" or someones interpretation there of came along later.
