I noticed recently my alerts now include ' x started a thread called... 'which means when I log, on my alerts list contains dozens of alerts. Have I changed something inadvertently or is it a new 'feature'? TBH I don't really need to be told there is a new thread as I can see them when I open the BB forum

P.S. I STILL can't cut and paste or drag drop pictures into posts like I used to be able to until recently regardless of how small I make them.

Thanks. That fixed the notifications. Somehow I ended up with the radio button checked for new thread notifications although I have never seen that page before.
Now to address the problem of not being able to paste pictures,

If it’s a picture from the internet you can paste the picture’s url and type [ IMG] before it and [/ IMG ] after it (with no space before the IMGs) and it will embed it.

If its an image from the Internet you can just copy and paste as below

If its your own picture we seem to have lost that facility altogether

Thanks JD but as some others have also reported. For the last few weeks the issue has been one of copying files or photos stored on the pc or laptop itself rather than on the cloud. The toolbar above the edit box no longer shows the 'file' option like it did. You used to be able to copy/paste or even drag drop a jpg from desktop or folder directly into the post text box

Yeah, I know, it’s a pain. You need to upload it to a free image hosting site first and then paste that link here.

Yerbut loses spontaneity and is a retrograde step to what we had. No -one from admin has explained *why and where the option went even though the issue has been reported and commented on a number of times on the BB.

    * I do appreciate that the BB is run and maintained by Gally and others with jobs and other commitments on a voluntary basis for which we are all eternally grateful. :)

I don't get those alerts so must be a profile setting. I still struggle with uploading a file or pasting an image into a post. It's been like that since the board melted down a month or two back.

I think this has happened before when something changed with the server and eventually gally sorted it so I'd guess that it happened again when something happened with the server not too long back (did he move servers maybe?). I'd guess that he's either not aware of the problem or not had time to sort it or it could just be that hosting the images was becoming a strain on the server so he's deliberately stopped them.

Come on @Gally keep our Italian friend informed
