being given food handouts at the border..... BUT THERE'S A PROBLEM...... they are Muslims and there's a question as to whether the food they are being given is Muslim-friendly.

    *shrug*

    I'm vegetarian.

That is, I have a belief system which precludes me eating meat. Even if I'm starving, I'd like to think I'd not eat it: because of the things I believe.

Offer non-halal food to a Muslim if you want. It's your right to do so. Equally, it's their right to turn it down: because of the things they believe.

    Easy answers:

    a. Send them home so they can eat what they normally eat
    b. Take it or leave it - eat or starve

    Not rocket science

Could be tricky if they end up in a European country where they have nowhere to live and no means of earning a living.

Obviously though if they come here they will be alright. Hand outs, free housing, no problem. Oh and carry on living as you did back home while you are at it. No need to respect your hosts is there?

As an atheist I really cannot understand this. To me if you are hungry or starving and are given food you accept it or die. These peoples religious beliefs seem to take over the human need to eat to survive.

Each to there own I suppose. To me just unbelievable.

If they act like animals, they will be treated as such. Hungary is trying to process refugees, ISIS, and economic migrants, but they effectively riot and overcome the civil authority. As for Muslims they should have gone to their brothers in Saudi, Qatar and the UAE, and then they could be sure their meat had been acquired in an inhumanic way.

    Unbelievable

its now a simple case of 'Take it or leave it' and if its the latter then starve... the adage of ' do not look a gift horse in the mouth' comes to mind. I certainly feel for the refugees... but hey .. come on when they try to lay down terms of their escape and the aid they get... well if they are not happy to be safe and sound and being fed... then let the feckers eat freakin cake ... UNGRATEFUL BASTADS

Give 'em a 3-bed house and they'll complain it's not a 4-bed one, people who love to look a gift horse in the mouth.

I will always remember you as the one whose solution to the asylum seekers at Calais trying to get into our country
was to shoot them in the legs. God forbid that you need help anywhere along the line and the only
one who might help is someone who thinks like you.

The refugees/migrants in Calais are SAFE. They are in a prosperous, cultured country.

It is their choice to stay in that camp. They are in the camp because they know that if they register with the French authorities, France will be their new country. But France isn't good enough for them of course.

Every new migrant here means indigenous British are pushed down the housing list, usurped by the newcomers. There's further demand on the health service, schools and other public services.

Out of interest why do you think france isn't good enough for them? By that I mean what do you think their reason is?

France the most popular tourist destination in the world, known for it's fine food, less crowded than the UK, where middle-class Brits like to retire, hardly a shithole is it?

Unsure, probably the perception amongst them that:

    1. Housing will be made available to them on entry to Britain
    2. Social benefits greater in Britain than in France.

You would have thought that anyone escaping tyranny and war would be grateful for refuge and security in France, and not electing to stay in a camp in Calais.

    What's your take on it?

Can I ask where this news came from? No link in the OP, so could just be a load of ********. Muslims eat a variety of food, there's very few foods they don't eat, so I highly doubt that these refugees are only being offered foods that they won't eat due to their religious or personal beliefs. Smells like ******** to me. However, this thread has at least served a purpose, it's given me more clues on which posters I should ignore.

While I'm here though, this might be worth a read, you know, for you easily led lot...
