that simple one liner has done all the damage. Daft thing is Barnsley allways seem o adept at saying these or similar things that keep then coming back and hitting them from the likes of me.We will get a replacement as good as if not better... remember that one. I won't reel them all off, but you know what I mean.I am oftentold on here that if I have nowt good to say then shut it...maybe BFC should examine that sentiment too.

i think people look too much into what people at the club say, a box office player could easily be someone who is unheard of but is superb and do what eastwood/trundle have done for their clubs, or it could mean that signing mega buck players, players coming to the end of there careers could be box office.

Why not just wait and see and get behind the club, lets face it last season we were one of the big clubs, this season were not, a point last season was a disaster this season it will be good!

But no doubt that won't stop people from moaning!

    Sorry, but

A box office player cannot possibly be someone who is unheard of.

    dont be silly , jay.

he's too old. probably fast and tricky though as he's black.

that Tim Robbins might be OK though - heard he's a lethal finisher.

did you ever watch that film with Jim Carey and Morgan Freeman in it. I think Morgan Freeman plays God.

    its rubbish

hold on there wathred I can only assume that a box office name a box name is one which would not only excite fans but would also encourage the doubters to come along and watch the team. By definition then, how could an unknown do the same when he has'nt proved himself? If your opinion was correct then Coulson would be the answer.

    RE: Jim Carey

Tom Hanks would have them painting faces on footballs and talking to them.

Ice Cube in his 'Triple X' guise would be smart as fitness coach and set piece specialist.

    completly missing the point

what if a unknown turned out to be a superstar for us what would happen then!?

it is just another way of looking at the term box office, for all we know the reporter could have asked would you be looking at box office players and he has given the reply he has!

Who had heard of clint marcelle, de zeauw, appleby, hendrie, bullock, redfern, watson, wilkinson! Are you telling me that they did not put bums on seats!

The doubters can jump on the bandwagon later like they always do, hence potentail box office players!

"Who had heard of Hendrie, Wilkinson and Redfearn?"

Pretty much everyone who knew anything about football I should think, given that they'd all been top-flight regulars.

So what you're trying to say is

That when box office players were mentioned he was really referring to players that no one has ever heard of.

    I see.
