We went M1 to junction 15a then down the A43 onto the M40, up a junction on the M25 and into Stanmore, where we got a tube down to wembley.

Did the reverse on the way back, but stopped for fish and chips and was back in the house for MOTD coming on and didn't get stuck in traffic once.

    :)

We were going to get tube from Wembley Central as it was at side of stadium we were at and get us into Central London avoiding the crowd heading for Kings Cross.

There were numerous announcements outside the stadium that Wembley Central was closed due to a line fault, although didn't stop my mate trying to storm off down there until we shouted at him and he was "Oh I didn't know". So we made way up to Wembley Park and were on a train by about 6:30.

we were on our coach and away by 6.45pm, don't know how we found it amongst the total chaos of coaches and exhaust fumes everywhere, why on earth they had their engines running when they obviously could not set off till the queue had gone in front. Was there actually anybody directing the coaches off asI did not see anybody took a while to get on M1 but then never stoppped arrived back in Barnsley by 10.30pm

We parked up at Watford Junction train station which was free, 5 mins or so off junction 6 of the M1 and went to wembley central. Only problem on way back was we ended up at Watford central and was told it was a 10minute walk to watford junction when it was actually a 30 minute walk. Apart from that decent and back home for 10.30

    M1 J15a A43 M40 to Hillingdon Underground Car Park...

    simple journey home at 10pm.

They announced at end of game Wembley Central was closed which is why Wembley Park was busy.

How the hell is it a two hour walk from Wembley Central to Wembley Park?? It's 20 minutes, max...

We went M1 J4 to Stanmore and tube to Wembley Park. Took a while to get out of the car park afterwards but it wasn't too bad, we were home for 10.30 :)

I had the same problem, was staying at my Brothers in Watford. Heard the Announcement so jumped on the train at Wembley Stadium, straight through to MArlyebone, on Underground round to Euston, then persuaded the Guard to let me on the Euston to Watford Train for free as they'd broken the conditions of my ticket by closing Wembly Central.. He did as well :D In Watford by 7.
