there is some unbeliveable ignorance on display. What are they taught in school?

But the parents of the teenage mothers are all talking as if they have no responsibility for educating their kids either.

And what about the teenage dads? They walk away.

'There's no reason why a teenage mum can't be just as good as an older mother' - quote from 14 year old mum.

    For f@cks sake.

They are taught a hell of a lot more than we were! Our sex ed lessons at school involved drawing diagrams of mens and womens bits and that was about it! The stuff today makes your hair stand on end !More education has got to come from parents

    You're absolutely right.

There was so much wrong with what was on that programme.

There was a thirteen year old (13!) - would rather text on her mobile phone that pick up her crying baby. The solution? The grandparents get to bring the baby up.

It reminds me of a Chris Rock stand up show - yes a mother can bring up a child without a dad, but you can drive your car with your feet, it doesn't mean that its 'to be done'. If the child calls its grandmother 'mummy' and it's mother 'Pam', it's going to jail. You're not saving university money. You're saving up for bail.

There was a teenage couple - five kids - he has no qualifications or skills, and he has artheritis, so neither of them work and they claim £1500 a month benefit and live in a council house paid for by the tax payer. Wonderful.

I almost has to restrain the missus

... from putting her foot through the TV.

As she commented, there are childless couples out there who would undoubtedly do a much better job than these 'parents' or rather 'parent'. I was ready to shove that bloody mobile down that 13year olds throat by the end of that program.

Professional breeders is all they will ever be and they'll spend their lives 'bringin up' the next generation or car thieves and breeders.

I weep at what sort of a country we're going to be stuck with in the not too distant future.

    RE: same here

The parents (and I by that I mean the grandparents to the poor baby) looked for every reason to absolve themselves of responsibility for not educating their child properly - one of them said that she (the grandmother) has gotten pregnant and had her first child at 16. Would have thought that she'd learn to warn her daughter not to do the same thing? Then went on to say that 'that's life, that's what girls do' (shrug of shoulders). Makes my blood boil.

As has already been said - there are childless couples out there who would adopt a new born no problem - but that poor baby is stuck with a 13 year old child mother who doesn't know what the **** she is doing, and couldn't care less anyway because she wants to go outside and play on the swings. The grandmother/grandfather and thirteen year-old will keep on with it until the child is about four and a lot less cute (and starting to show the early signs of antisocial behaviour) and then start to regret things. By then mum (who is 17, spending benefits on chain smoking and probably has two more kids by separate ASBO fathers) has simply resorted to screaming incoherently at the little Barsteward (I mean that literally) who is well on his way to his first ASBO also.

There is no way forwards there. The authorities should intervene on evidence like that and lift the baby out of that family and take it elsewhere for its own protection.

    Am I bovvered?

At one point while the girl was texting her mate instead of picking up her crying baby, another girl said 'Are you bovvered about your baby?' I thought someone had let Catherine Tate in.

Or Vicky Pollard, who got bored with her baby and swapped it for a Westlife CD.
