Correct. Think OP needs to remember:
    -nothing has happened yet
-this is the championship, £4m is very, very little money these days, much less a spending spree that is going to ensure promotion.

Very encouraging compared to our last promotion, looks like the calibre of youngster is increasing as l thought it would. Lets hope we can establish ourselves at this level again.

I've seen enough over the years to know going on a spending spree does not guarantee promotion , but if you are going to put money on now's the time to do it before the signing s do start . I'd say very generous odds when you look at the buying power of many clubs above us in that list compared to the reds . Do you think Luton/ Blackburn/ Millwall etc have a better chance of promotion than us ? As for the bigger fish derby/wednesday etc most of them seem skint with ageing squads .

Think the OP is taking positives ( as I am) about the intent of the club, yes the intent as to come to fruition but it's good to see the club showing ambition.
My sheff utd supporting mate who I am currently working with said sheff utd spent 4 million last season on one player ( John Egan), the vast majority of there squad were playing Lg1 the season prior. I live in hope that we still get teams as ours getting to the dizzy heights ( didn't want to write " teams like Barnsley ' ha ha) quick edit sheff utd spent £6.7 million

No, I think none of Luton Blackburn millwall or us will be promoted.
Again, £4m which we haven’t even spent isn’t a lot of money in the championship.

I think he's making the point that a few teams have gone up without spending mad amounts of money on their promotion squad Huddersfield, Sheff U, Burnley (1st time) etc etc

Spending doesn't mean that much really. Cumulatively we spent a large wedge pre 17/18 season and dished out long term contracts. The players we did sign were just a bit raw and turned out to be for the future.

The players we're being linked with now and the way the articles are written certainly intimate we mean business. Also Stendel and Conway think lets have a crack at another promotion without going crazy.

I like the idea of building a squad and selling anyone who wants out.

Spread bet on points total. We’ll be undervalued by 10pts as usual.

The odds are irrelevant. We won’t go up. Not at 28/1 or any other price you’d care to mention. But we will finish above a host of clubs on shorter odds than us.

I think I had us at 33/1 each way when DW took us up from the champ before.
Surprised we aren't in the 30's as usual when we are in the champ.
They must be worried, putting us so short :D:p
