Proper fans vs season ticket holders

    a device that is used to move the air around, either an object made of folded paper or other material that you wave with your hand, or an electric device with wide blades that spin round:

    There was no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan turning slowly.

    I've got a proper fan in my office. However you could argue that a season ticket holder could waft air about with it, and thus become a 'proper fan device' or something.
