to call myself a barnsley fan after that performance,we worked our b**locks off and just didnt get that bit of luck, absolutely gutted BUT we must get behind the lads now these 6 games left are just as important as yesterdays,i cant imagine watching that piss poor of a league next season if we go down COME ON LADS WE CAN DO IT!!
Yep, there wasn't really anything wrong with how we played With even a mediocre striker up front we would have got two or three.
not sure i would big the performance up but am still proud to be a barnsley fan always will but imo the manager is giving alot of fans a reason to slag the performances off with his nieve selections.
im proud of our performance cos we never laid down and died...you ask most reds fans and they will tell you the most important thing a player wearing that beloved shirt is work-rate..and those lads yesterday never stopped!!
Nice one Arctic!! The team never gave up, that is for sure. Don't think we deserved it, simply because we didn't score. Can't remember Enkelmann making one decent save. Onwards and (hopefully) upwards!!
why should i ask any "reds fan" i am a reds fan and i have been watching this club for 22 years and imo they did well , but not good enough! once oddjob "let us down" the team seemed to go flatter. All in all maybe if oddjob did'nt waste such a good chance maybe i would have felt different but to say we played well enough to pat everyone off the pitch i have to disagree. They had a massive chance yesterday to put themslefs in the hsitory books and we could not rise to the next level against a team of less quality than chelsea and liverpool. Maybe thats the only way to get these players more up for it, but i can tell you this we are gunna find it hard to win enough games to survive based on our creative showing and finishing yesterday. Its all well and good been up for it and not stopping running but sometimes you have to show some quality and i did'nt see much coming from us yesterday just long balls. Maybe i'm wrong but thats my take on the game anyhow, a MASSIVE chance lost wheter we over achieved or not
Proud of the club, proud of some of the endeavour yesterday... most worked hard but as individuals not a team. Now i've slept on it, the tactics probably put the players in a worse light than they deserved: Howard playing far too deep... mazey attacking runs are great but not when 17 of the 22 players are in front of you. Full backs (more Bruma) not gettin forward often enough. General lack of movement, especially from the front 2 who seemed happy to stand still and exchange gropes with the centre-backs. Lack of positional sense when we had the ball. Zonal defending and lack of closing-down... if Davey feels forming 2 lines of 4 is all that's needed then he should coach synchronised swimming instead. We gave Cardiff a 30yd headstart whenever they fancied going forward.
