crazy how a win changes the outlook. I hoped for 4 points from these 2 games, secretly thinking we may sneak 6. After those 2 late goals nerves would understandably have been high today. And the brainless minority jeering Potts won't have helped him or the team any. Luckily this team, and our manager, are consistently defying the odds, proving people wrong, and going about their business in an understated and professionally. Today we started Pearson - League 2 last year McCarthy - League 1 last year Williams - Kids football last year Potts - L2 last year McGeehan - L2 last year Barnes - L1 last year And we went away, to a team that have lost something like 2 in 14 at home, following the last few results, and beat them convincingly. That's why I love this team. Couldn't be prouder tonight. People saying we are worse than the team that went up. Well we went to the home of the team we beat to come up and had the same score line. That's a decent benchmark for me.
Yes things are looking alot better looking at the table and we have a game in hand over most teams. Hopefully we can go on some unbeaten run now and get Andy yiadom and izzy back in the 11.
I don't expect an unbeaten run, tough games coming up, but a bit of pressure off may let us play with a bit more freedom. Agree Yiadom, Izzy and Gardner will hopefully make competition for places more fierce and give Hecky more options.
They are all hard games in this league but next 3 games are tough boro, hull and Wednesday 2 teams who were in the prem last season and Wednesday who pay even the cleaners 30k a week. I'd take 4 points now.
