2 days on and after some sulking I've started to reflect on the season.

What a year and what a bunch of lads. To a man they've been fantastic. The best bunch of players we've had in 20 years.

We're all hurting and we're starting to look towards the team next season. I think a few people on here have been talking a bit coldly about players who've been so good for us. Everyone there has been great and deserves another shot if they're not sold.

I don't have the same sense of loss I did in 2000.

Me neither. 2000 was definitely worse and I still haven't watched the highlights from the game with Ipswich. I wish I could put it to bed, but I can't. It's still 21 years of hurt and counting......

That's where my minor sense of loss came from on Saturday. Not for the loss experienced v Swansea. I hoped these lads were going to banish the hurt I felt in 2000. That still continues for me. If that makes sense. It's an awful burden.

Same here. Back then fans and players were a lot more together and on the same page. Nowadays as it's been for years the players are just commodities here short term until the run off somewhere else chasing the pound. That's their choice but it's why when we talk about legends and best players who gave us the best years of service we rarely mention recent players.

Losing in a play-off semi-final is hard. All that work, and those hopes and dreams and no big day out in London. But its probably easier to take (especially after losing the first leg - and against a team that beat us 3 times this season) than in the final.
