Genuine story this I promise ... I posted a few weeks back saying that my sons U6's football team had played in a tournament at Wednesday's training ground. As a reward all kids were given a medal - though much to my chagrin it was a blue and white ribboned owl medal! The fact that it was his first "tournament" medal is all that saved it from disappearing. At school the kids were asked to bring something to school "healthy" to show the teacher. He reasoned that as it was exercise, football was healthy and decided to take his medal in. In the school cloakroom this morning his mum gives him the medal and notices that he immediately cups his hands completely around the medal. "What are you doing George" "I don't want anyone to see it and think I support Sheffield Wednesday - I'm a Barnsley fan". I felt ten feet tall when I got the text from my wife telling me that one!
Proper REDS fan.....take the lad down to Club shop and buy him a shirt or tracksuit.....something to reward him for his common sense and loyalty, at such a young age. REIGHT LAD
I felt ten feet tall when I got the text from my wife telling me that one! Thats what being a parents all about mate...tha bringing him up reight
Maybe you should ask Fired which team her BFC-supporting daughter plays footie for. Then your lad won't feel too bad about the medal, believe me!
Nice one, at least he knows he's a red through and through and he's proud to be one. Can't you get the lad some red ribbon and replaced the dirty blue and white.
