Just tried going on my PS3 (very childish and immature I know), switched it on and clicked the centre of the control pad to connect it to ps3 as you do. Put the game in, but the ps3 wasn't showing up on screen, instead I just got a message saying "HDMI 1: no signal", as if to say the HD cable wasn't plugged in, even though it was. Switched the ps3 back off and on, and this time it worked. Now i've got all of my old saved games on an external harddrive, and was just about to copy an old one back to the ps3 when it went off, as well as the external harddrive, as if there had been a power surge or something, and now I can't get the ps3 back on, i'm just getting the same error from my TV as I did in the first place. Anyone had a similar experience, or got any advice? (other than buy an x-box) TIA

Never used to have that problem with Subbuteo!

Then again, did have the problem of someone standing on one of the players or the cat nicking the ball!

Tried replacing it with the original scart cable that comes with the ps3 and still no joy. Don't think it's the HD cable because the playstation isn't recognising the controller, wouldn't have thought the HD cable would affect this.

I used to have to play 7 a side with the Subbuteo because i'd broken that many players. I had the barnsley team, and there was a 'dark skinned gentleman' who I gave the number 10 and called Clint Marcelle, I was mortified one day when I woke up and his head was missing.

Your KKK action men didn't get him did they?

When I got my Subbuteo they didn't have "dark skinned gentlemen" in the teams!

They must have, coincidentally I did have the action man with white snow jacket and hood.

Mine was the euro 96 edition with England and Norway, then I bought Barnsley, Wednesday and Chelsea.

    After looking around the internet

I think it may have overheated, (despite only just switching it on). One website describes the problem I had almost exactly and sez the cooling fan may have broken, £60 repair job :(

Didn't realise they were still doing it then! I remember wanting the 1974 World Cup edition but just ended up getting the normal version. I did buy the 1974 goals though!
Someone bought me the West Ham team for some reason!

They still do them now, with actual players, although I think they're cardboard these days.

Does it flash yellow or red before going off, its a similar thing to the xbox rrod. I fixed my borthers it cost me a fiver for sum artic silver paste, got a video off youtube to take it apart and sort it, the only thing u need is an heat gun which does about 300 degrees c (this was hardest thing to find, borrowed it frum a friend). It's an hours job if u want to try it and most places charge between £60 and £80 the robbing gits

Nope it ain't that, I read about that online. It switches on and off like normal, trouble is that there's no display and the controller doesn't respond to the system. Gunna give it another look tomorrow now.
