Word of caution. The Police won't let anyone with colours in any of the pubs near the ground. Last season they rounded up a load of Reds fans at the Fox on Fox Hill Rd. Escorted them to the ground. Think the New Barrack sometimes let away fans in. Always fine at Kelham Island/ Fat Cat and also in Grenoside, where there are 6 pubs to choose from.
Not very close to the ground at 2pm. You can park at Law Bros Garage on Leppings lane, but you have to be early, and you have to pay. Nearest you're going to get at that time is Fox Hill/ Wadsley Bridge area. (15-20 mins walk) Or you could come in from Deepcar and park off to the right after Middlewood tramstop = 10 minute walk. Depends where you go for a drink I guess. The parking opposite the Kop is Wednesdayite pass holders, and I'm told it takes forever to get out of Hillsborough Park.
Drink in centre get tram down it takes 10mins from west street. Not of our lot wear colours so no issues.
If you're talking about the Travellers on Penistone Rd, it's long gone. Knocked down to make way for a tesco express or sainsburys or something.
Well it's Weatherspoons .... So it's packed withe cheap ale drinkers on match days. They're all horrible around there. Blue Ball is the real dive, and the Sports Bar on Hillsborough corner is open at about 10am, so always full of tramps. Always makes me laugh that the supporters of Wednesday call Barnsley fans scrubbers, when that part of Hillsborough has the biggest concentration of scratters per square yard, anywhere in the country. I'd honestly stick to the New Barrack, Kelham Island, or Grenoside. It does mean leaving the pub early to get to the ground though....if you can drag yourself away.
